Getting Ready for the Big Day

Wednesday, August 5, 2009. The day we had been waiting for was finally here. Mckenon did some last minute packing and was ready to go. He looks good!

Time to Leave!

Monday, August 3, 2009. Mckenon said goodbye to his best friends Emmett and Nathan. They have been great friends and super supportive. Then we went to the airport. Mckenon missed his flight! So we went to lunch at San Diego Harbor to wait. It was beautiful weather and added a fun little bonus to the day.

Sunday, August 2, 2009. We had dinner with close friends and family and then Mckenon was set apart to be a missionary that evening.

July 26, 2009. Shawn and Melissa had about an hour long towel fight. Natalja wanted in on the fun too!

Farewell and Luncheon

Sunday, July 26, 2009. Mckenon had his mission farewell at church today. He did a wonderful job. His talk was about the spiritual journey that led to his decision to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was inspiring. He's going to be a great missionary.

Afterwards we had a luncheon, which was attended by friends and family. It was an amazing day!

On the Road to Becoming a Missionary

July 25, 2009. Dan and I had the privilege of attending the
San Diego Temple with Mckenon. What a joyous occasion.
My hope is to one day go there with all of my familytogether.

Look What I'm Making!

I made this baby quilt with leftover fabrics from

the Old Red Barn Quilt Along. I love it!

Look at the detail of the quilting-the little flowers

were fun to do! I'm waiting for the mail to

bring the fabric for the binding. I ran out! The

back is cute too. I'll have to post a picture of that.

Dog Days

We've been watching the Marler's dog while
they'vebeen out of town. Her name is Roxy and she is so cute!
She has definitely stolen our hearts. We're going to be sad when she goes home.
