Pay It Forward
I signed up at one of my online quilting friend's, Ochil Lynz, over in Scotland to participate in a pay it forward. I'm so excited! I haven't done this before so I'm looking forward to it.
Here are the rules if you want to play. And I hope you do!
1. I will make a little something for the first three people who commment on this post. It will be a surprise and it will arrive on your doorstep when you least expect it.
2. I will have 365 to days to complete and send your gift. What's the catch? To recieve a hand made prezzie from me, you have to play too. This means YOU pledge to send a little handmade something to three readers of your blog. It doesn't have to be quilty. Just handmade.
3. You must have a blog (obviously).

Farewell to our Missionary
Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Nicole and Jeff gave Mckenon a
Hanayama puzzle and he was determined to figure it
out before he went into the MTC.
He got it done in about 1 1/2 minutes!
When we arrived, we got out of the cars to take pictures.
Weston wanted a picture just like Uncle Mckenon. A
future missionary!

I love this picture of Elder Abreu. He looks his usual
calm, cool, and collected self.
We were allowed to take one car to drop Elder Abreu off,
so we ALL piled into Jeff and Nicoles' van! When we got
up to the curb, we were welcomed by a couple of Elders.
We were able to get out for a minute, say our goodbyes, give
final hugs, and that was it! It was hard

On the Way!
On the way to the MTC we went out to breakfast at The Cracker Barrel. Yum!
The food there is so good.
Afterwards we took pictures outside the restaurant. Kapria had
to seize the opportunity to walk around in my shoes! I think
we were actually trying to prolong the time so we wouldn't have
to say goodbye to Mckenon!

Getting Ready for the Big Day
Wednesday, August 5, 2009. The day we had been waiting for was finally here. Mckenon did some last minute packing and was ready to go. He looks good!

Time to Leave!
Monday, August 3, 2009. Mckenon said goodbye to his best friends Emmett and Nathan. They have been great friends and super supportive. Then we went to the airport. Mckenon missed his flight! So we went to lunch at San Diego Harbor to wait. It was beautiful weather and added a fun little bonus to the day.

Sunday, August 2, 2009. We had dinner with close friends and family and then Mckenon was set apart to be a missionary that evening. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
July 26, 2009. Shawn and Melissa had about an hour long towel fight. Natalja wanted in on the fun too!
Farewell and Luncheon
Sunday, July 26, 2009. Mckenon had his mission farewell at church today. He did a wonderful job. His talk was about the spiritual journey that led to his decision to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was inspiring. He's going to be a great missionary.
Afterwards we had a luncheon, which was attended by friends and family. It was an amazing day!

On the Road to Becoming a Missionary
July 25, 2009. Dan and I had the privilege of attending theSan Diego Temple with Mckenon. What a joyous occasion.
My hope is to one day go there with all of my familytogether.
